Cairns String Quartet was formed in 1989 by Stella Massey OAM and prides itself on the quality and professionalism of their performances.   In 2009, Margaret Willis took over as director of the quartet.   She has been a full-time performing member of the quartet for over 10 years and 1st violinist.  

Cairns String Quartet is the most highly sought after and well-respected string quartet here in Far North Queensland and specialise in weddings, special events and corporate/private functions . 

We have played for hundreds of weddings in the region and are the string quartet of choice when dignitaries from around the world visit our wonderful city.  CSQ has performed at everything from an official dinner with the Australian Prime Minister hosting international leaders from around the world to a simple garden party at a private residence.

Due to the huge volume of weddings and corporate events in tropical North Queensland and the popularity of our quartet, we are fortunate to have several different members to call upon, all of whom are skilled in their craft.  This proficiency assures our clients of professionalism and quality - always.

We are proud to offer a repertoire list of well over 200 different works, ranging in musical styles from the elegance and beauty of classical music to the exciting and diverse popular genre which encompasses romantic ballads, up beat hits and smooth jazz.

We also pride ourselves for having the facilities to provide specially pre-requested music professionally arranged for the quartet.
