Margaret has more than 30 years experience and whose qualifications include a Bachelor of Music Degree and Post Graduate Diploma (both in Performance) from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. She performs on a regular basis at many of the 5 star resorts and venues throughout the Cairns area as both solo violinist and as 1st violinist in the Cairns String Quartet.
Since returning to her hometown of Cairns in 1993, Margaret has been dedicated to her performing and teaching career. Her performances are renowned for their quality and professionalism and the exquisite sound of her beautiful German violin handmade in 1783. Musically, Margaret has a very wide selection of pieces in her repertoire, from classical to popular. However, if there is a specific piece requested for the event, every effort will be made to include this in the ceremony.
As well as an accomplished violinist, Margaret performs regularly as pianist / organist for local weddings and concerts,
as well as being the official accompanist for the Cairns Junior Choral Society.
She is also sought after for her musical arrangements and has produced over 150 arrangements for not only string quartet, but choral music, string orchestral arrangements and music for brass band and marching band. For 8 years she was co-founder and Musical Director of Cairns Showband which, under her baton, participated in tours to Guam, China and most memorably was part of the 2000 piece band which performed at the opening ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
The elegance of the solo violin creates a wonderful atmosphere that
can enhance the most romantic of occasions and
creates emotions that only music can evoke.
